Prevalence of Food Consumption Inadequacy in Batu Bara Decreased by 0.99% in the Last Year

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (Prevalence of Undernourishment/PoU) in Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra, reached 7.45% in 2024.

This figure decreased by 0.99% from 8.44% in the previous year, while it increased by 1.88% in the last 5 years.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in Batu Bara Regency is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.
