Household Poverty Lines in These 10 Provinces Are the Highest Nationally

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the national poverty line (PL) per household was Rp 2.19 million per month in September 2021. This figure was obtained by multiplying the per capita PL of Rp 486,168 by the average number of family members, which is 4.5. Compared to March 2021, the household PL increased by 3.12%.

The province with the highest household PL was North Kalimantan, reaching Rp 4.22 million per month. This value was obtained from the per capita PL of Rp 730,342 multiplied by the number of household members, which is 5.78.

The next highest household PL was in Maluku, at Rp 3.77 million per month. This was followed by Bangka Belitung Islands at Rp 3.65 million per month, DKI Jakarta at Rp 3.43 million per month, and East Kalimantan at Rp 3.39 million per month.

Furthermore, the household PL in West Papua reached Rp 3.26 million per month. This was followed by Riau with a household PL of Rp 3.12 million per month, then Papua at Rp 2.99 million per month, and West Sumatra and North Sumatra at Rp 2.8 million per month and Rp 2.79 million per month, respectively.

The average number of family members in these 10 provinces was highest in Maluku, at 6.23 members. The lowest average number of family members was in North Sumatra, at only 5.2 members.
