The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) predicts that the number of air passengers during the 2024 Eid exodus will reach 4.4 million people, with a daily average of 275,420 people.

This projection is based on a 16-day Eid exodus period in 2024, namely April 3-18, 2024.

Director General of Air Transportation at Kemenhub, Maria Kristi Endah Murni, stated that this number is a 12% increase compared to air passengers during Eid 2023.

For this year's Eid, domestic air travelers are estimated to reach 3.6 million people, with a daily average of 224,650 people.

This number is predicted to increase by 9% compared to the number of air passengers during last year's exodus.

Furthermore, the projection of international flight passengers during the 2024 Eid exodus is estimated to reach 812,240 people, with an average of 50,770 people per day.

"For international passengers this Eid, the increase is 26% compared to last year," said Kristi in a press conference on Sunday (17/3/2024).

The busiest domestic flight route is expected to be from Soekarno-Hatta (CGK) to I Gusti Ngurah Rai (DPS), with a projected total of 304,970 passengers.

Meanwhile, the busiest international flight route is from CGK to Changi Singapore (SIN), which is predicted to reach 161,330 people.

Kemenhub ensures that seat availability will meet the needs of the 2024 Eid exodus. They have also reactivated several flight routes that were temporarily suspended during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"The projected available seat capacity totals 6.7 million seats. Then, the total number of aircraft is 420 (units)," said Kristi.
