According to data from the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker), South Korea opened approximately 12,000 job vacancies for Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) in 2022.
The most in-demand jobs from Indonesia were shipbuilding welders, with 7,500 positions.
South Korea also opened vacancies for shipbuilding painters, shipbuilding electricians, factory workers, production operators, and welders with various qualifications.
These included 3/4G welders, qualified to weld metal in vertical or diagonal positions with a 70-80-degree angle of inclination.
Also, 6G welders, qualified to weld metal in a 45-degree inclined position, a highly skilled level in metal joining.
Based on data from the Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Computerized System (Sisko P2MI), as of early this year, South Korea has not yet recorded any new job openings for PMIs.
Individuals wishing to work abroad can register on the official Sisko P2MI website, search for suitable vacancies, and follow the selection procedure.
PMI selection includes complete administrative documents and other required documents according to the vacancy, such as health certificates, educational certificates, training certificates, and others.
