This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest percentage of people tested per week, are Bontang City (998.35%), Badung (996.02%), Jayapura City (982.79%), Manokwari (941.14%), and Jayapura (815.87%).
Bontang City ranks first. With a population of 185,460, the weekly percentage of people tested is 998.35 percent. The latest positive rate is 0.06 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Badung. The population of this region is 727,950. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly percentage of people tested is 996.02 percent. The positive rate in this region is 0.48 percent, also down from the previous week.
Then, Jayapura City recorded 982.79 percent testing, Manokwari, with a population of 176,240, recorded 941.14 percent, and Jayapura, with a population of 129,450, recorded 815.87 percent.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid data recapitulation, there are 323 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reporting a higher weekly percentage of people tested than before. Meanwhile, 62 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly percentage of people tested compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly percentage of people tested include Bontang City, Badung, and Jayapura City, with weekly percentages of 998.35 percent, 996.02 percent, and 982.79 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
