A report from the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) shows that Indonesia's Hajj quota in 2022 reached 100,051 people. The Hajj quota was reinstated after a two-year suspension of the Hajj pilgrimage due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The quota consisted of 7,226 special Hajj quotas and 92,825 regular Hajj quotas.
The largest regular Hajj quota was allocated to pilgrims from West Java, with 17,679 pilgrims. This was followed by East Java with 16,048 pilgrims, Central Java with 13,868 pilgrims, and Banten with 4,319 pilgrims.
In addition, 1,901 officials were also deployed for this year's Hajj pilgrimage.
According to a report by *Saudi Expatriates*, Indonesia's Hajj quota was the largest compared to other countries in 2022. Indonesia's quota surpassed that of Pakistan and India, which had 81,132 and 79,237 pilgrims respectively.
The departure of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims was divided into two waves. The first wave took place from June 4 to June 18, 2022, with pilgrims departing from Indonesia to Amir Muhammad Bin Abdul Aziz International Airport in Madinah.
The second wave of departures took place from June 19 to July 3, 2022, with pilgrims flying from Indonesia to King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah.
