Active Covid-19 cases in Indonesia have decreased today. According to the Covid-19 Task Force report, the number of active Covid-19 cases in Indonesia is now 30,411 as of Wednesday, September 14, 2022.
The total number of Covid-19 cases reported today has reached 6.4 million. Of these, 157,830 people have died and 6.21 million have recovered.
Although active Covid-19 cases in the country have decreased, the public must remain vigilant. Especially since the coronavirus has the potential to remain contagious, even after holidays like Lebaran.
The implementation of health protocols is still expected to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, namely by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap. In addition, the public is also encouraged to get booster vaccinations to strengthen the body's immunity and reduce the severity of infection from the coronavirus.
In the latest news regarding the development of Covid-19, the Ministry of Health has found that two new Omicron subvariants, BA.4 and BA.5, are one of the causes of the resurgence of infections in Indonesia. The lowest number of active Covid cases in Indonesia was previously recorded at 2,871 cases on May 30, 2022. After that, active Covid cases began to rise along with the increase in positive confirmation numbers in the country.
Therefore, Indonesia needs to be vigilant. The public is urged to continue to strive to prevent the spread of the coronavirus by implementing health protocols such as wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, avoiding crowds, and limiting mobility.
