The top five, starting from the highest, are Bekasi, Samarinda City, Denpasar City, Sidoarjo, and Sikka, with specimen numbers per week of 957, 922, 908, 884, and 883 respectively.
Bekasi ranks first. The number of specimens examined there is recorded at 957 per week. The latest positive rate is 3.78 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Samarinda City. The population of this region is recorded at 873,460. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined was 922 per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.17 percent, having decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Then, Denpasar City recorded 908 specimens per week examined; Sidoarjo recorded 884 specimens per week examined; and Sikka recorded 883 specimens per week examined.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 81 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reporting a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 102 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Samarinda City, Denpasar City, and Sikka, with 922, 908, and 883 specimens examined respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
