The United States ranks first, with weekly Omicron cases growing by 0.15 percent. GISAID recorded 2.4 million Omicron cases in the country. Daily cases in this region increased by 0.02 percent compared to the previous day.
Following the US is the United Kingdom in second place. Compared to the previous week, the number of Omicron cases in the UK grew by 0.08 percent. Daily Omicron case numbers increased by 0.01 percent compared to the previous day, totaling 1.45 million cases.
Next is Japan with 411,970 Omicron cases (up 0.09%), France with 355,390 cases (up 0.24%), and Canada with 288,600 cases (up 0.39%).
In Indonesia, the number of Omicron cases recorded to date is 37,967, a 0.01 percent increase compared to the previous day. Since first being monitored, Omicron cases in Indonesia have continued to rise.
The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) urges all parties to remain vigilant in the face of the global surge in Omicron cases. The public is urged to consistently adhere to the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands.
