International tourist arrivals in DKI Jakarta increased in November 2021. Statistics Indonesia (BPS) recorded 19,046 international tourists that month, the highest number of visits to the capital city throughout 2021.
The previous highest number of international tourist arrivals in Jakarta occurred in April 2021, with 15,539 visitors.
On a monthly basis, international tourist arrivals in Jakarta in November 2021 increased by 38.7% (month-to-month/m-to-m) compared to October 2021, which only reached 13,731 visitors. Meanwhile, year-on-year (yoy), international tourist arrivals also increased by 32.6% from 14,365 in November 2020.
Cumulatively, from January to November 2021, international tourist arrivals in Jakarta reached 102,670. This figure is significantly down by 75.2% compared to the same period the previous year, which reached 414,030.
In November 2021, countries in Asia outside of ASEAN still dominated international tourist arrivals in Jakarta. Chinese tourists were the most numerous, with 3,070 visitors, or 16.1% of the total.
South Korean tourists were the second most numerous, with 1,589 visitors (8.3%), followed by Russian tourists with 1,432 (7.5%), Indian tourists with 1,085 (5.7%), and American tourists with 821 (4.3%).
