The top five regencies/cities with a Covid-19 death rate exceeding 0.19 deaths per 100,000 population per week are Madiun City, Tarakan City, Malang City, Central Jakarta City, and Surakarta City, with respective rates of 0.56 deaths per 100,000 population per week, 0.37 deaths per 100,000 population per week, 0.34 deaths per 100,000 population per week, 0.22 deaths per 100,000 population per week, and 0.19 deaths per 100,000 population per week, respectively.
National Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in Covid-19 deaths in most regencies/cities outside Java. No regencies/cities recorded a higher daily Covid-19 death rate than previously.
Areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include Tarakan City, Muara Enim, and West Lombok, with respective death rates of 0.37 deaths per 100,000 population per week, 0.15 deaths per 100,000 population per week, and 0.13 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
