Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 140 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data as of Friday, January 27, 2023, shows a national average of 116.55 tests per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per week, are Medan City (983 people), Bogor City (932 people), Sleman (928 people), Garut (919 people), and West Bandung (874 people).
Medan City ranks first, with 983 people tested per week. The latest positive rate is 0.2 percent, lower than the previous week's ratio.
Next is Bogor City. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 932 people were tested per week. The positive rate in this region is 1.39 percent, also lower than the previous week's percentage.
Following this, Sleman recorded 928 tests per week, Garut 919, and West Bandung 874.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 76 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 257 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some areas with the highest number of tests per week include Medan City, Makassar City, and Samarinda City, with 983, 821, and 803 people tested per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
