The highest increase in confirmed positive Covid-19 cases in North Sulawesi is currently in Manado City, with 11.52 cases per 100,000 population per week as of Monday, August 22, 2022. This figure is four cases higher than the second-highest region.
The Covid-19 transmission situation in Manado City appears to be not improving. This is indicated by the number of cases this week, which is still higher than the previous week's figure of 10.83 cases per 100,000 population per week.
Tomohon City is in second place, recording a weekly confirmation rate of seven cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Compared to last week's 11.77 cases, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases this week is lower.
Rounding out the top five, besides the two regions above, are North Minahasa, Minahasa, and Bitung City, each recording weekly confirmations of four cases, four cases, and two cases, respectively.
According to the Ministry of Health's list, the next five regencies/cities in the top 10 are South Minahasa, Southeast Minahasa, Sitaro, and North Bolaang Mongondow. These areas recorded an average increase of over 1.21 cases per 100,000 population.
The good news from this province is that four regencies/cities recorded no increase in confirmed Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population per week.
