The top five, starting from the highest, are Pangandaran, Simalungun, North Padang Lawas, West Muna, and Mandailing Natal, with ratios of 80.55 percent, 71.72 percent, 66.67 percent, 57 percent, and 51.25 percent respectively.
Pangandaran ranks first. With a population of 407,350, its weekly suspect testing percentage is recorded at 80.55 percent. The latest positive rate is 0.2 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Simalungun. The population of this region is recorded at 877,710. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly suspect testing percentage is 71.72 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.29 percent, which has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, Padang Lawas Utara recorded 66.67 percent testing, West Muna recorded 57 percent, and Mandailing Natal recorded 51.25 percent.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 163 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report higher weekly suspect testing percentages than before. Meanwhile, 176 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly suspect testing percentages compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly suspect testing percentage ratios include Simalungun, North Padang Lawas, and West Muna, with weekly suspect testing percentages of 71.72 percent, 66.67 percent, and 57 percent respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to participate in reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
