The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 73 regencies/cities with weekly hospital inpatient use above the national average, currently recorded at 1.91 patients per 100,000 population/week, data as of Thursday, August 25, 2022.
The five regencies/cities with the highest inpatient use, exceeding 8.08 patients per 100,000 population/week, are Magelang City, Central Jakarta City, Sorong, Banjar, and West Jakarta City, with respective values of 18.04 patients per 100,000 population/week, 15.65 patients per 100,000 population/week, 12.49 patients per 100,000 population/week, 9.48 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 8.08 patients per 100,000 population/week.
A recapitulation of national Covid data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in inpatient use in most regencies/cities outside Java. Daily inpatient use higher than before was recorded in 33 regencies/cities, while 31 regencies/cities recorded lower inpatient use.
Areas outside Java with the highest inpatient use include Sorong, Banjar, and Banda Aceh City, with respective inpatient use of 12.49 patients per 100,000 population/week, 9.48 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 6.78 patients per 100,000 population/week.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
