The top five, ranked by the number of people tested per week, are Bengkalis (999 people), Lumajang (991 people), Trenggalek (985 people), Ambon City (952 people), and Tasikmalaya City (949 people).
Bengkalis ranks first. With a population of 570,570, 999 people were tested in the last week. The latest positive rate is 3.7 percent, down from the previous week.
Next is Lumajang. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 991 people were tested per week. The positive rate was 4.04 percent, also down from the previous week.
Covid-19 testing in Trenggalek totaled 985 people per week, Ambon City recorded 952 tests per week, and Tasikmalaya City recorded 949 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, national Covid-19 data shows 117 regencies/cities actively reporting a higher number of weekly tests than the previous week. Meanwhile, 259 other regencies/cities recorded fewer tests than the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of weekly tests include Bengkalis, Ambon City, and Tabanan, with 999, 952, and 926 tests per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
