The Indonesian Ministry of Health reported that 69.27 million doses of COVID-19 booster vaccines had been administered in Indonesia as of Wednesday, August 16, 2023. This figure represents 38.15% of the national COVID-19 vaccination target of 234.66 million doses. According to the Ministry of Health's data, the daily increase in COVID-19 booster vaccinations nationwide yesterday was 1,124 doses.
West Java remains the province with the highest number of booster vaccine recipients nationwide, reaching 15.57 million doses. Within West Java, Bogor Regency had the highest number of booster vaccine recipients with 1.6 million doses, followed by Bandung Regency (1.1 million), Bekasi Regency (991,680), Bekasi City (982,880), Cianjur Regency (913,650), and Bandung City (901,810).
East Java is in second place nationally with 9.47 million booster vaccine doses administered. Within East Java, Surabaya City had the highest number of recipients, with 1.32 million doses.
Central Java is in third place with 8.65 million booster vaccine doses administered. This is followed by DKI Jakarta (5.41 million doses), North Sumatra (4.22 million doses), and Banten (3.01 million doses).
