This week's Covid-19 statistics in Europe show that most countries have recorded a decrease in the number of deaths, a reversal from the previous period where death tolls continued to rise. This week, 10 countries still recorded an increase in deaths, while 18 others recorded fewer deaths than the previous week.
In terms of percentage, the top five countries with the highest increase in deaths are the UK, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Estonia, and the Czech Republic. The total number of deaths in these five countries as of Tuesday, September 13, 2022, was 463, with a weekly growth rate exceeding 25.64 percent.
The UK ranks first, with a weekly increase in deaths of 147.06 percent. Worldometer recorded 336 deaths in the UK, an increase compared to the previous week's reported 136 deaths.
Next is Slovakia, which recorded 143.75 percent more deaths than the previous week. The number of deaths in this country was reported as 39, higher than the 16 recorded the previous week. Bulgaria recorded 33 deaths (up 57.14%), Estonia recorded six deaths (up 50%), and the Czech Republic saw a 25.64% increase in deaths.
Looking at the number of reported deaths, the highest number of deaths in the last seven days in Europe occurred in Russia, with 637 deaths. Death reports in this country increased by 1.59% compared to the previous week. Following Russia, Germany recorded 537 deaths (down 15.83%), Italy recorded 377 deaths (down 18.92%), the UK recorded 336 deaths (up 147.06%), and Spain recorded 266 deaths (up 11.3%).
The total number of deaths in Europe over the past seven days was 3,132. This accounts for 30.61 percent of global Covid-19 deaths, totaling 10,233. The number of deaths in Europe decreased compared to the previous seven-day accumulation of 3,267 deaths.
