Afghanistan recorded the highest increase in Covid-19 deaths in Asia, with weekly growth reaching 250 percent. In this country, Worldometer recorded seven deaths, a 40 percent increase compared to the previous day.
Pakistan follows in second place. Compared to the previous week, deaths in this country grew by 200 percent. Yesterday's daily death toll in this country was recorded at three. Deaths in Hong Kong increased by 61.26%, deaths in Israel increased by 35.71%, and deaths in Japan increased by 22.23%.
Looking at the number of reported deaths, the highest number of deaths in the last seven days in Asia occurred in Japan with 1,435 deaths. Death reports in this country increased by 22.23% compared to the previous week. Following Japan, South Korea reported the largest number of deaths with 335 (down 1.18%), Indonesia with 216 deaths (down 23.4%), Taiwan with 200 deaths (down 11.11%), and Hong Kong with 179 deaths (up 61.26%).
The total number of deaths in Asia over the past seven days was recorded at 2,777. This accounts for 31.63 percent of global deaths caused by the Covid-19 virus, totaling 8,781. The death toll in Asia increased compared to the previous seven-day accumulation of 2,572 deaths.
