The top five, starting from the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Sleman (996 specimens), Indragiri Hulu (981 specimens), Samarinda City (925 specimens), Bandung (915 specimens), and Garut (863 specimens).
Sleman is ranked first, with 996 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 2.86 percent, which has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is Indragiri Hulu, with a population of 453,480. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 981 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate in this region is 0 percent, also down from the previous week.
Samarinda City recorded 925 specimens examined per week, Bandung 915 specimens per week, and Garut 863 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 81 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 84 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Indragiri Hulu (981 specimens), Samarinda City (925 specimens), and Kupang City (835 specimens).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
