The COVID-19 positivity rate in DKI Jakarta continues to decline. Based on data from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, the positivity rate in the capital city was 0.2% as of October 25, 2021.
Over the past week, the average COVID-19 positivity rate in Jakarta was 0.4%. This is lower than the average positivity rate the previous week, which was 0.7%, and lower than the same period the previous month, which reached 0.9%.
The positivity rate in Jakarta has also decreased significantly compared to July, when it reached 19.6%. This corresponds to the decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases in the province led by Anies Baswedan.
As of October 26, 2021, there were 916 active COVID-19 cases in Jakarta. This number is very small compared to the national total of 12,989 cases.
Although the positivity rate in Jakarta has decreased, efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 must continue. Several epidemiologists predict a third wave of COVID-19 will hit Indonesia by the end of this year.
Therefore, the public is still urged to diligently implement the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap. In addition, the public is encouraged to avoid crowds and reduce mobility.
