The number of people in Riau Islands who have received their first dose of the vaccine has reached 1.4 million.

As of Tuesday, October 19, 2021, the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccination coverage in Riau Islands Province has reached 88.74 percent. This figure is equivalent to 1.4 million vaccine recipients out of a target of 1.58 million people. Meanwhile, the second dose vaccination has reached 64.62 percent of the target.

Based on target groups, the details of the vaccination to combat the Covid-19 virus in this province are as follows: The health workforce group had a target of 14,120 recipients. For the first dose, vaccination was successfully carried out for 14,120 people (143.64 percent of the target), and for the second dose, 136.32 percent or 19,250 people were vaccinated.

For public service personnel, the target was 128,890 people. The first dose vaccination reportedly reached 499,130 people (387.25 percent of the target), and the second dose reached 308.2 percent, or 397,250 people.

For the elderly, the target was 87,130 people. For the first dose, it was administered to 45,190 people (51.87 percent of the target). For the second dose, only 38.49 percent, or 33,540 people, were vaccinated.

For the vulnerable general public, the target was 1.14 million people. For the first dose, vaccination was reportedly administered to 755,760 people (66.45 percent of the target). For the second dose, only 43.92 percent, or 498,460 people, were vaccinated.

For adolescents aged 12-17 years, the target was 207,660 people. For the first dose, 78,780 people were vaccinated (37.94 percent of the target). For the second dose, only 33.49 percent, or 69,550 people, were vaccinated.
