The Ministry of Health recorded 4,063,879 people on the island of Sumatra who have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. This number only reaches 9.11% of the government's target.
Meanwhile, 7,961,539 people on the island have received the first dose of the vaccine. This amounts to 17.85% of the government's target.
North Sumatra is recorded as the most successful in administering both the first and second doses of the vaccine on the island. 1.92 million people received the first dose and 1.11 million received the second dose.
In other provinces, the Riau Islands excel in first-dose vaccination with 1.05 million vaccinations. Meanwhile, the second dose vaccination has only reached 266,000 people.
South Sumatra has administered the first dose to 980,000 people and the second dose to 577,000 people. Riau has administered the first dose to 905,000 people and the second dose to 581,000 people.
In total, 22,891,824 people in Indonesia have received the second dose of the vaccine. Meanwhile, 49,391,058 people have received the first dose.
Although the Covid-19 vaccination program is underway, the public is urged to remain disciplined in implementing the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap. This is important to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
