The top five, starting from the highest percentage of people examined per week, are Jayapura (988.89%), Manokwari (988%), Berau (929.83%), Tarakan City (874.44%), and Bontang City (749.45%).
Jayapura ranks first. With a population of 129,450, the weekly percentage of people examined here is recorded at 988.89 percent. The latest positive rate is 0.16 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Manokwari. The population of this region is recorded at 176,240. In an effort to counter the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly percentage of people examined is 988 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.35 percent, or higher than the previous week's ratio.
Then, Berau recorded 929.83 percent of examinations; Tarakan City, with a population of 267,270, recorded 874.44 percent; and Bontang City recorded 749.45 percent for the weekly percentage of people examined.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid data recapitulation, there are 225 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reporting a higher daily weekly percentage of people examined than before. Meanwhile, 157 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly percentage of people examined compared to the previous week's examination.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly percentage of people examined include Jayapura, Manokwari, and Berau, with weekly percentages of 988.89 percent, 988 percent, and 929.83 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to participate in reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water.
