COVID-19 Data Update for Provinces Yesterday: Jakarta Records Highest Increase (Thursday, January 5, 2023)

Indonesia recorded an additional 535 Covid-19 cases yesterday, bringing the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 6.72 million as of Thursday, January 5, 2023. The five provinces with the highest number of new cases yesterday were DKI Jakarta, West Java, Banten, East Java, and Central Java.

1. DKI Jakarta: 183 additional cases

DKI Jakarta ranks first, with 183 additional cases, a 0.01% increase compared to the previous day's cumulative total of 1.54 million. With this addition, the total number of cases in DKI Jakarta is now 1.54 million.

Unfortunately, in addition to the high number of new cases, DKI Jakarta also recorded one death. The total number of deaths in DKI Jakarta during the Covid-19 pandemic has reached 15,905.

2. West Java: 120 additional cases

3. Banten: 56 additional cases
