Not all Indonesians with health complaints seek outpatient treatment. Based on the 2021 National Socioeconomic Survey (Susenas), only 40.47% of the population sought outpatient care when experiencing health issues.
The highest percentage of people seeking outpatient treatment when experiencing health complaints comes from West Sumatra, reaching 55.12%, exceeding the national average.
Besides West Sumatra, Bali also shows a high percentage of its population seeking outpatient care when experiencing health issues, at 53.31%, ranking second. This is followed by Aceh at 52.34% in third place, Yogyakarta Special Region at 44.29% in fourth, and DKI Jakarta at 44.12% in fifth.
Next, West Java ranks fifth, with 43% of its population seeking outpatient treatment when experiencing health complaints. Other provinces on this list include West Nusa Tenggara at 43.32%, Gorontalo at 43.12%, South Sumatra at 42.88%, and North Sulawesi at 41.52%.
Unfortunately, some people do not seek outpatient treatment despite having health complaints. Reasons include self-treatment, fear of COVID-19 infection, and lack of funds.
