Top 10 Regencies/Cities in Indonesia with the Highest COVID-19 Hospital Bed Occupancy Rate (Sunday, February 20, 2022)

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) noted that at least 15 regencies/cities have a bed occupancy rate (BOR) above 60%. Nationally, the average BOR this week is 21.01 percent. This is an increase compared to last week's figure of 14.71 percent (data as of Sunday, February 20, 2022).

The top five regencies/cities with the highest COVID-19 BOR, exceeding 69.17 percent, are Buton (93.64 percent), Southwest Maluku (76.19 percent), Sidoarjo (74.52 percent), Cimahi City (70.45 percent), and Sorong (69.17 percent).

A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows that the BOR in most regencies/cities outside of Java is increasing. A daily BOR higher than the previous day was recorded in 244 regencies/cities, while 51 regencies/cities recorded a lower BOR.

Some of the regions outside Java with the highest BOR include Buton (93.64 percent), Southwest Maluku (76.19 percent), and Sorong (69.17 percent).

The government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
