According to the Ministry of Agriculture's data, long bean production in North Maluku in 2023 grew by 6.59% to 4,157 tons. Previously, according to the records of the last 12 years, the highest growth in North Maluku occurred in 2003, with long bean production reaching 4,157 tons. This growth indicates that long bean production has been strengthening over the past six years.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture's publication, data for 2023 shows that total long bean production in the top 10 provinces reached 216,090 tons. This represents 69.84% of the total production from all provinces.
West Java recorded the highest long bean production with 66,575 tons. The Ministry of Agriculture recorded an 18.47% year-on-year decrease in this region.
Next is North Sumatra. In the same period the previous year, long bean production in this province was recorded at 26,333 tons.
Furthermore, long bean production in East Java decreased by 13.93% to 30,074 tons compared to the same period the previous year; Central Java saw a 7.79% decrease to 21,906 tons compared to the same period the previous year; and West Sumatra produced 14,833 tons (a 3.89% decrease).
