Top 10 Regencies/Cities in Indonesia with the Highest Number of Covid-19 Agglomeration-Related Deaths Nationwide (Tuesday, March 21, 2023)

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 44 regencies/cities with an agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 above the national average, currently recorded at 0.01 per 100,000 population per week, data as of Tuesday, March 21, 2023.

The five regencies/cities with the highest agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19, exceeding 0.08 per 100,000 population per week, are Tarakan City, Palangkaraya City, Palu City, Ponorogo, and Malang, with respective rates of 0.37, 0.33, 0.24, 0.11, and 0.08 per 100,000 population per week.

National Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in the agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 in most regencies/cities outside Java. One regency/city recorded a higher daily agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 than previously, while one regency/city recorded a lower rate.

Areas outside Java with the highest agglomeration death rates due to Covid-19 include Tarakan City, Palangkaraya City, and Palu City, with rates of 0.37, 0.33, and 0.24 per 100,000 population per week, respectively.

Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distancing, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
