The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 76 regencies/cities with a number of deaths due to Covid-19 above the national average, currently recorded at 0.05 deaths per 100,000 population per week, data as of Saturday, October 22, 2022.
The five regencies/cities with the highest number of Covid-19 deaths, exceeding 0.82 deaths per 100,000 population per week, are Pakpak Bharat, Pariaman City, North Minahasa, West Bangka, and Probolinggo City, with respective values of 1.9 deaths per 100,000 population per week, 1.08 deaths per 100,000 population per week, 0.98 deaths per 100,000 population per week, 0.93 deaths per 100,000 population per week, and 0.82 deaths per 100,000 population per week, respectively.
The national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in the number of deaths due to Covid-19 in most regencies/cities outside Java. The condition of daily Covid-19 deaths with higher figures than before was recorded in 10 regencies/cities, while five regencies/cities recorded a lower number of deaths due to Covid-19.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of Covid-19 deaths include Pakpak Bharat, Pariaman City, and North Minahasa, with respective death rates of 1.9 deaths per 100,000 population per week, 1.08 deaths per 100,000 population per week, and 0.98 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
