Indonesia today recorded an additional 6,699 Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 6.6 million as of Friday, November 18, 2022. The five provinces with the highest number of new cases today are DKI Jakarta, West Java, Banten, East Java, and Central Java.
The following are the provinces with the highest increase in Covid-19 cases today
- DKI Jakarta recorded an additional 2,798 cases
DKI Jakarta is ranked first. The increase in cases here is recorded at 2,798 cases, or a 0.19 percent increase compared to the previous day's cumulative total, which has reached 1.49 million. With this addition, the total number of cases in DKI Jakarta is now 1.49 million.
In addition to the highest increase in cases, DKI Jakarta also recorded seven deaths. Thus, the total number of deaths during the Covid-19 pandemic in DKI Jakarta has reached 15,705. The seven-day positive rate is at 32.89 percent, and the BOR for Covid-19 hospitals is reported at 15.07 percent.
- West Java recorded an additional 1,239 cases
West Java is ranked second. The increase in Covid-19 cases here is 1,239 cases. The seven-day positive rate in this region is recorded at 17.26 percent. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested for Covid-19 in this province is recorded at 39.03 per week.
- Banten recorded an additional 722 cases

- East Java recorded an additional 656 cases
Next is East Java. The increase in cases here is recorded at 656 cases, or a 0.11 percent increase compared to the previous day's cumulative total, which has reached 624,560. With this addition, the total number of cases in this province is now 625,220.
Unfortunately, in addition to recording a high number of new cases, East Java also recorded seven deaths. Thus, the total number of deaths during the Covid-19 pandemic in East Java has reached 31,993. The seven-day positive rate in East Java is 19.66 percent, while the development of the BOR for Covid-19 hospitals is reported at 14.87 percent.
- Central Java recorded an additional 364 cases
The fifth highest increase in cases is in Central Java. In this province, the increase in cases today is 364 cases, or a 0.06 percent increase compared to the previous day's cumulative total, which is recorded at 648,450.

- Yogyakarta recorded an additional 104 cases

- North Sumatra recorded an additional 76 cases

- Riau recorded an additional 66 cases
