A number of street crimes, including robberies, in Medan, North Sumatra, are currently in the spotlight. This situation has angered Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution, prompting him to demand firm action from the police.
"Robberies and motorcycle gang crimes are currently very worrying for the public and must be dealt with firmly. Especially for perpetrators who have repeatedly committed these acts. Therefore, I hope the police will be firmer in taking action against the perpetrators in the field, even if it means shooting them dead," wrote Bobby via his Instagram account on Friday (7/7/2023).
The son-in-law of President Jokowi considers the crime rate in Medan to cause significant losses, both socially and economically.
