Top 10 Regencies/Cities with the Highest Percentage of Suspect Examinations per Week (Wednesday, August 10, 2022)

Based on national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 166 regencies/cities aggressively conducted suspect testing, exceeding the national average weekly percentage. As of Wednesday, August 10, 2022, the national average testing rate was recorded at 7.66 percent. This suspect testing data is calculated based on the number of suspected individuals and close contacts compared to the number of people tested in each region, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.

The top five, starting with the highest weekly suspect testing percentage, are Simalungun (86.55%), Mandailing Natal (79.19%), Pangandaran (71.85%), Pringsewu (68.85%), and Balangan (59.07%).

Simalungun ranks first. With a population of 877,710, its weekly suspect testing percentage is recorded at 86.55 percent. The latest positive rate is 3.57 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.

Next is Mandailing Natal. The population of this region is recorded at 460,360. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly suspect testing percentage is 79.19 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0 percent, having decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.

Then, Pangandaran recorded 71.85 percent testing, Pringsewu recorded 68.85 percent, and Balangan, with a population of 134,580, recorded a weekly suspect testing percentage of 59.07 percent.

Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 131 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily weekly suspect testing percentage than before. Meanwhile, 149 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly suspect testing percentage compared to the previous week.

Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly suspect testing percentages include Simalungun, Mandailing Natal, and Pringsewu, with weekly suspect testing percentages of 86.55 percent, 79.19 percent, and 68.85 percent, respectively.
