The top five, starting with the highest number of specimens tested per week, are Bengkalis (958 specimens), Fakfak (941 specimens), Buleleng (929 specimens), Subang (913 specimens), and Madiun City (908 specimens).
Bengkalis ranks first. With a population of 570,570, the number of specimens tested there is recorded at 958 per week. The latest positive rate is 0.15 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Fakfak. The population of this region is 82,512. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens tested is 941 per week. The positive rate in this region is 0.22 percent, also down from the previous week's percentage.
Then, Buleleng, with a population of 672,470, recorded 929 specimens tested per week. Subang recorded 913 specimens tested per week, and Madiun City, with a population of 178,330, recorded 908 specimens tested per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on a recapitulation of national Covid data, there are 191 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reporting a higher daily number of specimens tested than before. Meanwhile, 166 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens tested compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of specimens tested include Bengkalis, Fakfak, and Buleleng, with 958, 941, and 929 specimens tested, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
