Several districts/cities in North Sumatra province still record quite low second-dose vaccination rates compared to other areas. Some of these districts/cities include South Nias Regency, North Nias Regency, and Mandailing Natal Regency.
As of yesterday, these three regencies had only completed 185,850 second doses out of the targeted 744,530 vaccine recipients.
South Nias Regency is ranked first in terms of low vaccination rates. As of yesterday, only 23.5% of the target population had received their second dose, the lowest among the 33 districts/cities. The first dose, however, reached 82.1%, or 296,950 vaccine recipients.
The vaccination program in this regency targets 280,440 participants. According to the Ministry of Health's data, the average weekly vaccination rate in South Nias Regency last week was 52 participants. Currently, there are 66,322 doses of vaccine in stock.
Next is North Nias Regency. For the second dose, this regency has the second-lowest rate. With a target of 112,310 vaccine recipients, only 23.8% or 26,776 recipients have received their second dose.
The first dose has reached 65.5%, or 100,890 vaccine recipients. According to the Ministry of Health's data, the average weekly vaccination rate in North Nias Regency last week was 990 participants. Currently, there are 79,736 doses of vaccine in stock.
Mandailing Natal Regency is ranked third. With a target of 351,780 vaccine recipients, only 26.5% or 93,282 recipients have received their second dose. According to the Ministry of Health's data, the average weekly vaccination rate in Mandailing Natal Regency last week was 1,191 participants. The remaining vaccine stock is currently 114,620 doses.
At the provincial level, the total first-dose vaccination in North Sumatra has reached 77.66%, or 8.87 million vaccine recipients. The second dose has reached 51.12%, covering 5.84 million vaccine recipients.
