The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 56 regencies/cities with weekly tracing rates above the national average, currently recorded at 1.22 percent as of Sunday, January 8, 2023.
The top five regencies/cities with rates exceeding 20 percent are Deli Serdang, Semarang City, Surabaya City, Mataram City, and Cianjur, with values of 30 percent, 25 percent, 24.57 percent, 20 percent, and 20 percent respectively.
A recapitulation of national Covid data from the Ministry of Health shows that tracing in most regencies/cities outside Java has decreased. A daily tracing rate higher than before was recorded in one regency/city, while another regency/city recorded a lower tracing rate.
Areas outside Java with the highest tracing rates include Deli Serdang, Mataram City, and West Lombok, with tracing rates of 30 percent, 20 percent, and 17 percent respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
