Based on national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 162 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests above the national average. Data as of Wednesday, June 22, 2022, shows a national average of 0.98 tests per 1000 people per week.
The top five, starting from the highest number of people tested per 1000 people per week, are South Jakarta (9.05 people), Central Jakarta (8.3 people), Balikpapan (6.19 people), East Jakarta (5.51 people), and Badung (5.38 people).
South Jakarta ranks first, with 9.05 people tested per 1000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 6.87 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Central Jakarta, with a population of 913,720. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 8.3 people per 1000 people per week were tested. The positive rate in this region is 5.79 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Balikpapan recorded 6.19 people tested per 1000 people per week; East Jakarta, 5.51 people per 1000 people per week; and Badung, 5.38 people per 1000 people per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 183 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests than the previous week. Another 183 regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside Java, areas with the highest number of people tested include Balikpapan (6.19 people), Badung (5.38 people), and Teluk Wondama (4.64 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
