The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 93 districts/cities with a weekly agglomeration of confirmed positive Covid-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 0.56 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Thursday, June 9, 2022).
The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 4.68 per 100,000 population/week are Sorong Selatan (59.09 per 100,000 population/week), Teluk Bintuni (17.36 per 100,000 population/week), Fakfak (9.7 per 100,000 population/week), Tambrauw (6.2 per 100,000 population/week), and Central Jakarta (4.68 per 100,000 population/week).
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java. Forty districts/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than before, while 22 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive cases include Sorong Selatan (59.09 per 100,000 population/week), Teluk Bintuni (17.36 per 100,000 population/week), and Fakfak (9.7 per 100,000 population/week).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
