The Indonesian government continues to accelerate its COVID-19 vaccination program, including the third dose, or booster shot. Based on data from the Ministry of Health, as of 6 PM WIB on May 24, 2022, the number of Indonesians who have received a booster shot has reached 44.50 million.
This figure represents 21.37% of the national COVID-19 vaccination target. The national target is 208.26 million people.
By province, West Java remains the province with the highest number of booster recipients nationally, reaching 11.03 million people.
Bogor Regency has the highest number of booster recipients in West Java, reaching 1.44 million people. Bandung Regency and Bekasi Regency follow with the highest number of booster recipients in this province, at 997,700 and 761,600 people, respectively.
Besides West Java, Central Java has the second-highest booster vaccination coverage nationally, with 6.21 million residents already vaccinated. Semarang City has the highest number of booster recipients in this province, reaching 629,810 people.
East Java ranks third with 5.70 million booster vaccinations. This is followed by Jakarta, North Sumatra, and Banten with 3.85 million, 2.30 million, and 2.10 million booster recipients, respectively.
