The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 108 districts/cities with a Covid-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.09 deaths per 100,000 population per week, as of Saturday, November 26, 2022.
The top five districts/cities with a Covid-19 death rate exceeding 1.09 deaths per 100,000 population per week are Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir (2.03 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Pakpak Bharat (1.9 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Berau (1.69 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Ngada (1.18 deaths per 100,000 population per week), and Central Jakarta (1.09 deaths per 100,000 population per week).
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in Covid-19 deaths in most districts/cities outside Java. Twelve districts/cities recorded a higher daily Covid-19 death toll than previously, while seven districts/cities recorded a lower number.
Areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir (2.03 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Pakpak Bharat (1.9 deaths per 100,000 population per week), and Berau (1.69 deaths per 100,000 population per week).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
