Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 132 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data as of Wednesday, February 1, 2023, shows a national average of 89.36 tests per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Bandung, Kutai Kartanegara, Medan, Palembang, and Sidoarjo, with 941, 861, 769, 753, and 747 tests per week respectively.
Bandung ranks first, with 941 tests per week. The latest positive rate is 3.08 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Kutai Kartanegara, with a population of 802,710. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 861 tests were conducted per week. The positive rate is 0 percent, a decrease from the previous week.
Furthermore, Palembang recorded 769 tests per week, while Medan recorded 753 and Sidoarjo 747 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 37 regencies/cities actively reported a higher number of weekly tests compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 305 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of weekly tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, regions with the highest number of weekly tests include Kutai Kartanegara, Medan, and Palembang, with 861, 769, and 753 tests per week respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
