Indonesia's Hajj Pilgrim Services Continue to Improve

Indonesia's Hajj Pilgrim Satisfaction Index (IKJHI) rose 0.38 points to 85.23 in 2018, up from the previous year. This indicates that Indonesian Hajj services that year fell into the "very satisfactory" category.

Over the past four years, Indonesian Hajj services have continuously improved, as evidenced by the rising IKJHI. Several aspects of the Hajj pilgrim satisfaction assessment even achieved "satisfactory" ratings with scores above 85. These include intercity bus transportation (88.25), personnel (87.69), Shalawat bus transportation (87.65), worship services (87.12), non-Armina catering (86.91), and hotel accommodation (86.02).

Indonesia has the world's largest Muslim population. The strong desire among Indonesian Muslims to fulfill the fifth pillar of Islam has resulted in a long waiting list for Hajj. For information, Indonesia's Hajj quota increased to 221,000 per year starting in 2017, up from 168,000 previously.
