The top five, starting from the highest, are Surakarta, Gresik, West Bandung, Indramayu, and Kediri, with 973, 970, 924, 888, and 883 people tested per week, respectively.
Surakarta ranks first. With a population of 519,800, the number of people tested in the last week was 973 per week. The latest positive rate is 1.23 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Gresik. In an effort to counter the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested in the last week was 970 per week. The positive rate in this region is 1.65 percent, an increase compared to the previous week's percentage.
Furthermore, 924 people were tested per week in West Bandung, 888 in Indramayu, and 883 in Kediri in the last week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid data recapitulation, 145 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of people tested daily in the last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 204 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of people tested in the last week compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of people tested in the last week include Samarinda, Deli Serdang, and Denpasar, with 882, 811, and 810 people tested per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
