The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) conducted a survey on the average expenditure of Indonesian citizens during the 2024 Eid al-Fitr holiday. The results show that the average spending per person on tourism during the Eid holiday reached Rp2.3 million. Based on the duration of their stay, domestic tourists who vacationed for one day spent an average of Rp904,500 per person. Those who vacationed for 2-4 days spent an average of Rp3.5 million per person. Tourists with a travel duration of 5-7 days are projected to spend Rp6.4 million per person, while those traveling for more than 7 days spent an average of Rp7.6 million per person.
Adyatama Kepariwisataan dan Ekonomi Kreatif Ahli Utama Kemenparekraf, Nia Niscaya, detailed that this expenditure covers accommodation, transportation, communication, and souvenirs. "The predicted potential economic turnover is approximately Rp369.8 trillion," said Nia in an online press conference on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. Nia explained that this calculation is based on data on public movement from the Ministry of Transportation, the percentage of people engaging in tourism, and the average expenditure from Kemenparekraf's survey. "This is also supported by an increase in the length of holiday or leave time," Nia added.
This survey was conducted by Kemenparekraf on April 14, 2024, involving 1,756 respondents.
