The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 136 districts/cities with a number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases per 100,000 population/week above the national average, which is currently recorded at 56.64 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Friday, March 11, 2022).
The five districts/cities with the highest number of confirmed positive cases, exceeding 446.92 per 100,000 population/week, are Tana Tidung (794.14 per 100,000 population/week), Malinau (740.91 per 100,000 population/week), Teluk Bintuni (581.46 per 100,000 population/week), Bulungan (569.7 per 100,000 population/week), and Pangkal Pinang (446.92 per 100,000 population/week).
A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows that the number of confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java is starting to decline. A higher number of daily confirmed positive cases compared to previous days was recorded in 90 districts/cities, while 241 districts/cities recorded a lower number of confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of confirmed positive cases include Tana Tidung (794.14 per 100,000 population/week), Malinau (740.91 per 100,000 population/week), and Teluk Bintuni (581.46 per 100,000 population/week).
The government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
