Top 10 Countries with the Most Omicron Cases Worldwide (Saturday, February 25, 2023)

The Omicron (B.1.1.529) variant of the Covid-19 virus continues to spread globally, reaching 5.72 million cases by Saturday, February 25, 2023. According to GISAID data, the United States has recorded the highest number of Omicron cases, at 2.23 million. This represents 38.94 percent of the total global Omicron cases.

The United Kingdom follows, with a weekly growth rate of 0.35 percent in Omicron cases. A total of 1.41 million Omicron cases have been reported in the country. Daily statistics show a 0.07 percent increase compared to the previous day's figure of 1.4 million cases.

Next is Japan with 384,530 Omicron cases (a 2.64% increase), France with 337,870 cases (a 0.19% increase), and Canada with 256,020 cases (a 1.7% increase).

In Indonesia, the number of Omicron cases has reached 34,444, a 0.05 percent increase compared to the previous day. Since its initial detection, the number of Omicron cases in Indonesia has steadily risen.

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) urges everyone to remain vigilant in the face of the global surge in Omicron cases. The public is advised to consistently adhere to the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands.
