The top five, starting from the highest, are Palu City, Mojokerto, Lahat, Pasuruan, and Bengkulu Utara, with weekly specimen numbers of 986, 978, 898, 894, and 883, respectively.
Palu City ranks first. With a population of 405,070, the number of specimens examined is 986 per week. The latest positive rate is nine percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Mojokerto. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined is 978 per week. The positive rate in this region is 11.65 percent, also down from the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, the number of specimens examined in Lahat is 898 per week, Pasuruan recorded 894 specimens per week, and Bengkulu Utara, with a population of 310,070, recorded 883 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 149 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 154 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Palu City, Lahat, and Bengkulu Utara, with 986, 898, and 883 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
