Epidemiologist Dicky Budiman from Griffith University Australia stated that the potential third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic caused by the Omicron variant will be four times more severe than the second wave, which was dominated by Delta variant infections. Dicky predicts that the trend of confirmed Covid-19 cases will continue to increase in the coming period.
Dicky warned that the increase in Covid-19 cases in areas with low vaccination coverage risks causing severe symptoms and death. Therefore, complete vaccination and booster shots are crucial to prevent fatal Covid-19 risks.
