Based on national Covid-19 data, 170 regencies/cities aggressively conducted suspect testing, exceeding the national average weekly percentage. As of Thursday, April 7, 2022, the national average was 8%. This suspect testing data is calculated based on the number of suspected individuals and close contacts compared to the total number of people tested in each region, then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Padang Lawas Utara, Simalungun, Barito Timur, Buol, and Balangan, with percentages of 73.83%, 58.39%, 55.58%, 47.83%, and 44.4%, respectively.
Padang Lawas Utara ranks first. With a population of 293,240, its weekly suspect testing percentage is 73.83%. The latest positive rate is 0.98%, down from the previous week.
Next is Simalungun. With a population of 877,710, its weekly suspect testing percentage is 58.39%. The positive rate is 2.56%, also down from the previous week.
Barito Timur recorded 55.58%, Buol 47.83%, and Balangan, with a population of 134,580, recorded 44.4% for weekly suspect testing.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, national Covid-19 data shows 110 regencies/cities actively reporting higher weekly suspect testing percentages than before. Meanwhile, 265 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly suspect testing percentages compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest weekly suspect testing percentages include Padang Lawas Utara, Simalungun, and Barito Timur, with percentages of 73.83%, 58.39%, and 55.58%, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
