The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 86 regencies/cities with a weekly agglomeration of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 4.43 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Friday, July 29, 2022).
The top five regencies/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 71.67 per 100,000 population/week are Tangerang City, South Tangerang City, Bogor City, Kepulauan Seribu, and Tangerang Regency, each with 71.67 per 100,000 population/week.
A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in confirmed positive cases in most regencies/cities outside Java. 143 regencies/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than before, while 78 regencies/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive cases include Palangkaraya City, Banjarmasin City, and Bontang City, with confirmed positive cases of 52.4 per 100,000 population/week, 34.46 per 100,000 population/week, and 27.5 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
